Body Thermage FLX

Body Thermage FLX is a non-invasive body-tightening treatment that uses monopolar radiofrequency (RF) heat to reach the deeper layers of the dermis, helping to firm loose body skin from within without surgery. It is used on areas where sagging and loss of firmness are a concern — such as the abdomen, inner arms and thighs — and can be thought of as the body version of facial Thermage. The surface stays protected by cooling while only the deeper collagen is heated to encourage contraction and renewal. Like a warm press that keeps the outside cool while warming what's underneath — the skin surface stays comfortable while only the deeper collagen is warmed to firm loose skin from within.

1) Consultation: the doctor reviews the skin and area condition and medical history (possible pregnancy, implanted medical devices, metal implants, medications, etc.), then plans the treatment area (abdomen, inner arms, thighs, etc.) and the shot count (based on 900 shots, with an additional 600 if needed) individually. 2) Preparation: a guide grid is drawn on the treatment area so that energy is delivered evenly across the whole zone without gaps. 3) Treatment: the cooled RF handpiece is stamped evenly over the area following the grid, delivering energy in a cool-heat-cool cycle that warms the collagen in the deeper dermis. 4) During treatment, a brief sensation of heat (warming up, then cooling) is felt repeatedly; if anything feels too hot or sharp, informing the doctor immediately lets the output be adjusted. 5) Finishing: a soothing care is applied, and aftercare guidance is given for home care. Depending on the area and shot count, it takes about 40 minutes; treating several areas together can take longer. It is performed per session, and timing for additional shots or repeat treatment is explained during consultation.

Body Thermage FLX heats the collagen in the deeper dermis and works in two stages: immediate collagen contraction right after treatment, followed by collagen renewal over the next several months. A slight firmer feel may therefore be noticed relatively early, but the core change in firmness tends to appear gradually over about 2-6 months rather than all at once. The change built from a single session is generally reported to last from several months up to about 1-2 years; because collagen naturally ages over time, periodic maintenance may be considered depending on the area condition. Body Thermage FLX is not recommended during pregnancy or when pregnancy is possible. If you are using an in-body electronic medical device such as a pacemaker or implantable defibrillator, please be sure to inform the medical team in advance, as this treatment uses RF energy. Treatment may also be restricted if there are metal implants in the treatment area, or active infection, inflammation, an open wound, or severe skin disease. If you have had previous aesthetic procedures or surgery in the treatment area such as fillers, lifting threads, or implants, please inform the medical team of the timing and location; eligibility is judged after confirming the current condition and treatment depth. During treatment, warm or hot sensations deep in the skin and momentary stinging may be felt. If heat or pain feels excessively strong, please tell the medical team immediately so the intensity can be adjusted. After treatment, temporary redness, warmth, mild swelling, or sensitivity may occur, and in most cases these improve quickly. Depending on the individual, tenderness or mild bruising may persist for a few days, but generally no separate long recovery period is required. On the day of treatment, avoid excessively hot environments such as saunas, hot compresses, and hot baths, as well as vigorous exercise and alcohol, and it is best not to rub or irritate the treated area. If the skin feels dry or sensitive, please moisturize well. If pain or swelling worsens or persists for a long time after treatment, or if skin changes such as blisters or burns, altered sensation, or other unusual symptoms appear, medical assessment is required. The medical team determines suitability and the treatment areas, energy, and number of shots after assessing your skin thickness and firmness and the treatment area.
